Using Marc1

These terms apply when you use Marc1 Model Studio or the Marc1 website. By using them, you agree to these terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

Your data and models

You are responsible for the data you upload and the models you train and share. You must have the rights to that data.

Acceptable use

Do not use Marc1 for anything illegal, harmful or abusive.

Do not attack or overload the service. Rate limits apply.

We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

GPUs and trained models

The hosted web app uses RunPod for cloud training and inference. You can use your own RunPod account, where RunPod bills you directly. Or you can use Managed Cloud, where Marc1 rents the GPUs for you. An assigned connected device can also serve chat and a free shared-model link. The desktop app supports local Mac compute and configured RunPod, Modal, AWS or SSH workers.

Model files can be stored on your computer, a worker, or provider storage. Deleting a GPU can remove files on that instance. Downloaded copies and persistent volumes can remain. Save any model you want to keep before you remove its storage.

Marc1 schedules Managed Cloud GPU deletion at the deadline set by your budget, capped at 24 hours. Provider or cleanup failures can delay deletion. Your charge remains limited to the approved budget.

Shared models

You can publish a link so other people can chat with your model. You are responsible for any model you share.

Visitors’ prompts and the model’s answers are saved and visible to the model’s owner. If you chat with someone else’s shared model, its owner can see what you send and what it answers.

Owners can sell request packs through their own Stripe account. Marc1 takes no fee on those sales, but Stripe’s own processing fees still apply. The owner handles receipts, refunds and disputes for them.

Managed Cloud billing

Managed Cloud runs on prepaid credit. The minimum top-up is $20. Stripe processes payments, and Marc1 does not store card numbers.

GPU time is charged at the approved hourly rate, which includes the provider’s GPU rate plus a 25% service fee. Startup and idle time count. You set a budget for each GPU, and you are never charged more than that budget.

If you request GPU deletion early, the unused budget is released back to your credit after the provider confirms termination. If the provider state is unknown, the budget stays reserved until Marc1 checks the result.

A refund reduces your credit. A dispute revokes the credit from that purchase. If you have already spent that credit, your balance can go below zero, and a negative balance stops you from starting new GPUs.

We may change prices. We will give notice, and a change applies only to purchases you make after it.

No warranties

Marc1 is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
